Using Brie
Terms
The ground rules for using Brie, sharing a household, and getting planning or cooking assistance.
Effective August 24, 2026
1. Agreement and eligibility
These Terms govern your access to and use of the Brie mobile app, website, and related services. By creating an account or using Brie, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms. If you use Brie for an organization or household on someone else’s behalf, you represent that you have authority to do so.
2. Accounts and shared households
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your sign-in methods secure. You may not impersonate another person, share access improperly, or use another person’s account without permission.
Household owners and members can view and change shared household information. Invitations should be sent only to people you intend to include. Actions by one member—such as changing a plan, checking a grocery item, or editing a recipe—may affect everyone in that household.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Brie in violation of law or another person’s rights.
- Upload malicious code or interfere with the service or its security.
- Attempt to access accounts, households, or systems without permission.
- Abuse automated features, evade limits, or place unreasonable load on Brie.
- Use Brie to harass, deceive, exploit, or harm another person.
- Reverse engineer or resell the service except where law permits it.
4. Recipes, sources, and your content
You retain any rights you have in content you submit. You give Brie a limited, worldwide license to host, copy, process, transform, and display that content only as needed to operate and improve the service, fulfill your requests, and make it available to the household members you choose.
You are responsible for having the rights or permission needed to submit content. Public recipe links, creator names, and source attribution remain subject to the rights and terms of their original owners. Brie does not grant you ownership of third-party recipes, photos, videos, trademarks, or other material merely because the service can reference or process it.
If you believe content in Brie infringes your rights or contains incorrect attribution, contact support@withbrie.app.
5. Automated suggestions, nutrition, and food safety
Brie uses automated and AI-assisted systems to extract recipes, suggest plans, adapt instructions, estimate nutrition, and answer questions. Outputs can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your household. You are responsible for reviewing them before relying on them.
Brie is not medical, dietary, or professional nutrition advice. Nutrition values are estimates and may vary by brand, preparation, portion size, and recipe version. Consult a qualified professional about medical conditions or individualized dietary needs.
Always independently verify allergens, ingredient safety, storage, cooking temperatures, doneness, and instructions. Do not rely on Brie as the sole source for allergy, food-safety, or emergency decisions.
6. Beta features and changes
Some features may be labeled beta, preview, simulated, or experimental. They may be less reliable and may change or be removed. We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of Brie as the product evolves.
7. Purchases and subscriptions
Brie may offer paid features in the future. Prices and terms will be shown before purchase. When a purchase is handled by Apple or another platform provider, that provider’s billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund rules also apply. Brie does not receive your full payment-card details from Apple.
8. Privacy and account deletion
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is collected and used. You may stop using Brie at any time and request account deletion through the app when available or through the process described on our support page.
9. Brie intellectual property
Brie and its software, design, branding, and original content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms allow you to use the service; they do not transfer ownership of Brie or its technology to you.
10. Suspension and termination
We may limit, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, comply with law, address nonpayment, or respond to a serious or repeated violation of these Terms. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue.
11. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, Brie is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise that the service will always be accurate, uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for every household.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Brie and its operators, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
13. Apple platform terms
If you download Brie through Apple, Apple’s applicable App Store terms and the Apple Standard End User License Agreement also apply. Apple is not responsible for providing Brie support.
14. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms as Brie changes. We will post revised Terms, update the effective date, and provide additional notice when required. Continuing to use Brie after revised Terms take effect means you accept them.
