Create together
Develop a complete recipe or adapt a saved favorite in your usual AI conversation. Work through the ingredients and directions together.
Bring your own AI assistant
Keep your recipes connected to the assistant you already use. Brie’s MCP connection lets compatible AI assistants find saved recipes, keep recipes you develop together, review and save changes, and work with your shared grocery list.
From conversation to your kitchen
Recipes can start in ChatGPT, Muse, OpenClaw, Grok, or another AI assistant. A compatible connection brings your Brie recipes and groceries into those conversations, so the work you do together becomes something you can use in your kitchen.
Develop a complete recipe or adapt a saved favorite in your usual AI conversation. Work through the ingredients and directions together.
Review the recipe and ask your assistant to save it to Brie. Reviewed changes become a saved version; imported recipes keep their original source and creator credit.
Find the recipe in your library, plan dinner, and cook from your saved version. Log your portion in Brie alongside your personal macro goals.
After connecting
“Find my saved chicken recipes in Brie and show one with its original source.”
“Save the complete recipe we just developed to Brie.”
“Help me adjust my saved lemon rice, then save the changes we agree on as a named version.”
“Add two cartons of milk to my Brie grocery list, then show the list.”
Connection reference
Model Context Protocol (MCP) lets an AI assistant use a service’s tools. Brie’s remote endpoint is https://api.withbrie.app/mcp. Knowing the endpoint does not grant access to a household. Read the machine-readable connection manifest for the endpoint, preview catalog and setup requirements.
The current connection requires an existing Brie account, an active personal Brie Plus or Pro plan or eligible trial, and approved connection access. Sign in to Brie, select your household, and review the requested recipe, grocery and planning permissions. Each person’s eligibility is checked separately.
The standard connection exposes eight recipe and grocery tools. Approved planning connections add five tools for household preferences, week reads, proposals, and reviewed saves. Your assistant must support Brie’s transport, account authorization, and the tools needed for your request.

add_grocery_item · Write
Add an item you request to the shared household list. The agent should keep the same operation reference when retrying an interrupted addition.
Reviewed meal planning
Planning tools require an approved connection with separate planning permissions.
get_planning_context reads shared servings, preferences, allergies and scheduling needs. get_meal_plan reads the selected week and its current revision. Separate planning permissions are required.
propose_meal_plan checks exact saved recipe versions and prepares meals for your review. Choose several dinners or a menu with a main, sides, starter and dessert. It does not change the shared calendar. get_plan_proposal retrieves that proposal.
approve_meal_plan saves the exact reviewed proposal and rebuilds household groceries. If the week changed, review a new proposal. Recipes and meals you did not ask to change remain in place.
Use Streamable HTTP at https://api.withbrie.app/mcp, with the header X-Brie-Capabilities: planning-preview. Ask support for an approved OAuth client registration, then sign in and consent to planning access. The header selects the planning catalog; it grants no household access.
Setup depends on the assistant you use. Connection support can help you check client requirements and enabled actions.
Explore family meal planning or dinner party menus. The planning tools and permissions must be enabled in your connection.
Household access
Recipe, grocery and planning access is limited to the household and permissions you authorize. Writes require your request; recipe edits need reviewed content and the current saved version.
Planning-enabled connections read household preferences and the week, prepares a menu proposal, and saves reviewed meals with their groceries. Combined dinner party cooking timelines and invitations are in development. Connections do not buy groceries or read personal nutrition logs.
Manage or revoke an existing connection at Brie connection settings. Previously saved recipes remain in Brie after disconnecting. Read the connected-agent privacy details or contact support for help.
